James Foley’s professor remembers his passion for reporting

After American reporter James Foley was killed by Islamic State militants in Iraq, one of his college professors reflects back on the beginnings of Foley’s passion for sharing stories.

In the fall of 2007, Foley found his passion for conflict reporting at Northwestern University. He later went on to report in Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan.

One of his professors remembers Foley’s leadership and talent as a journalist.
