Small businesses in Ferguson suffer due to protests

World Today

Recent protests in Missouri have made it difficult for small businesses in the area, during already trying economic times.

The shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown sparked nights of unrest in the town of Ferguson. Businesses have seen slower business because people are afraid to leave their homes.

Unemployment in the Ferguson area is twice the national average, adding to the economic downturn brought on by the protests.
