British health care worker flown to London after contracting Ebola in Sierra Leone

Ebola Outbreak

A British health care worker who contracted Ebola in Sierra Leone is now in London to receive treatment. The 29-year-old is Britain’s first confirmed case from the outbreak.

The patient, William Pooley, was transferred back to London on a Royal Air Force plane specially adapted for the task. Pooley has had little contact with the outside world, and will be kept from any physical contact with medical staff.

He was volunteering at a treatment center in Kenema, Sierra Leone, one of the areas worst hit by the epidemic. CCTV America’s Richard Bestic reports.
