Documentary features Peruvian cuisine and celebrated chef

Perhaps nothing defines a country or a culture like its food. And a new documentary explores that concept. It follows a celebrated chef from Peru as he travels the globe visiting restaurant kitchens in foreign countries and sharing the secrets of Peruvian cuisine.

Gaston Acurio is the chef, and is credited with leading a food revolution in Peru.

The film about him is called “Finding Gaston.” Joining Elaine Reyes on “Americas Now” to talk about it is the documentary’s director and Executive Producer Patricia Perez. She tells Elaine more about who Gaston is, what inspired the film, and if it’s possible for a cook to really change a country with his food.
