Mariupol, Ukraine residents rally to defend against pro-Russian rebels

World Today

Ukrainian troops and local residents rally to defend the port city of Mariupol, the next city in the path of pro-Russian rebels.

Local residents are having weapons training to defend the town against advancing pro-Russian rebels, who Kiev says are backed by Russian troops.

Mariupol is strategically important because it could create a corridor between the Russian border and Crimea.
