In Ukraine, Kiev and separatist leaders say a cease-fire deal could be in the works by Friday. But for the residents in the war-torn east, peace still seems to be very far in the distance.

Five months of conflict has had a devastating impact on the eastern regions and even if a ceasefire is reached, it’s going to take years for people here to rebuild their lives. CCTV-America’s Kate Parkinson has the story from Donetsk.
