Hundreds of civilians are fleeing Nigeria’s north eastern city of Maiduguri, as fears grow that Islamist Boko Haram militants may try an assault on the Borno state capital.

Heavily-armed Boko Haram fighters have taken towns and villages to the north, east and south of Maiduguri in the last few weeks. Thousands have also fled the town of Bama amid conflicting reports of who actually is in control of the town. CCTV America’s Deji Badmus reports.
