Journalists face big risks, challenges covering Ebola epidemic

The highly contagious nature of the Ebola virus and its dismal survival rate have caused many news organizations to steer clear of the region.

John Moore is one of only a handful of photojournalists who’ve made the trip to West Africa to cover the epidemic.

Moore spoke with CCTV America’s Karina Huber about the challenges of covering the outbreak.

“There were dead bodies in the same room as living people,” Moore said of his experience photographing an isolation ward in the Liberian capital of Monrovia.
