U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting with Arab allies to build a coalition to defeat the Islamic State.

Kerry stopped in Cairo to meet the Egyptian President El Sisi and the Secretary General as part of his regional tour to get support for the American plan to end the Islamic State. Cairo is the fourth regional capital Kerry visits this week. He was previously in Saudi Arabia when regional powers met to discuss the threats of IS.

CCTV America’s Adel El-Mahrouky reports.

Around ten regional countries showed support to the U.S. plan to terminate the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant during the Jeddah conference held In Saudi Arabia this week. The U.S. has been striking IS from the sky, but it will need a ground operation. The U.S. will train Iraqi forces, and Saudi Arabia has agreed to train moderate Sunni Syrian opposition to be the ‘foot on the ground’ from Syria.

For more on the fight against the Islamic State, CCTV America was joined by Morris Davis. He is a Former Chief Prosecutor for the Military Commissions at Guantanamo. He is also a Professor at Howard University School of Law.
