Xi’s visit to enhance China-India relationship

As President Xi Jinping gets ready to travel to India on a three-day visit, expectations are running high. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked closely with China as the chief minister of Gujarat and with Modi’s foreign policy thrust being India’s neighbors, it is expected that China and India will strengthen relations.

As President Xi Jinping gets ready to travel to India on a three-day visit expectations are running high. There is good reason for it. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi worked closely with China as the chief minister of Gujarat and with Modi's foreign policy thrust being India's neighbors, it is expected that China and India will now embark on a new journey.

It is the first summit level meeting in India after Narendra Modi took over as India’s Prime Minister.

Narendra Modi’s foreign policy is governed by economic diplomacy. China is India’s largest trading partner but both the countries are expected to sign many trade deals which are likely to take their economic partnership to the next level.

China and India have a complex relationship but there has been an effort by both sides to constantly have high-level exchanges to better relationship. Xi Jinping’s visit to India is expected to open a new chapter in China and India’s relationship.
