More than 300,000 people marched on the streets of New York Sunday to call for global action on climate change, organizers said. Other marches were held around the world ahead of the 2014 United Nations Climate Summit on Tuesday.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said he had high hopes for meeting where 125 global leaders are expected to attend.

Activists have called on governments to commit to binding reductions on fossil fuel emissions and to work towards a global treaty that could be adopted next year at a summit in Paris. CCTV America’s Nathan King reports.
