Music artists spread ebola awareness through songs

Ebola Outbreak

Authorities are resorting to drastic measures in hopes of curbing the spread of Ebola. In Sierra Leone, two million people are to be sealed-off and quarantined, but some are convinced there are more effective ways to save lives. CCTV America’s Jane Kiyo reports.

Music artists made songs about how Ebola spreads and how to avoid it trying to call people’s awareness about the disease. Most of the songs came from artists in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

It’s difficult to say whether they’re making a difference. But authorities in Nigeria have credited its media for getting the message out to help quickly contain its outbreak. With the death toll in west Africa continuing to climb, people need all the help they can get.
