It’s been a momentous start to the week in Afghanistan. The new President, Ashraf Ghani, kept his campaign promise and within a day of being sworn in, signed both the Bilateral Security Agreement with the Americans, and the Special Forces Agreement with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. CCTV Ameirca’s Courtney Body reports.
Despite now former President Hamid Karzai’s refusal to sign the deals, both the new Afgan President and Chief Executive Officer praised Karzai for setting the stage for it, claiming he ensured Afghanistan’s best interests were taken into account.
