Advocating women’s rights and entrepreneurship is a dangerous act in Pakistan. But one woman is determined to pass on the benefits of the education she received to empower a new generation. CCTV America’s Owen Fairclough reports.

Gulalai Ismail, is risking her life to empower women in Northwest Pakistan, one of the most dangerous places in the world. At just 16 years old, she founded, with her sister, Aware Girls, an organization that works to empower young women and promote gender equality in Pakistan. She recently spoke at a forum on youth dialogue at the IMF World Bank meetings.

“It may take a few more generations of being able to have a society where women have all these equal rights and women are empowered but I am also very hopeful because we have so many young girls and women leaders who, after me, will take leadership of my dream,” Ismail said.
