The overall size of the Chinese economy has now surpassed the United States, according to an International Monetary Fund report released Wednesday.

The IMF’s Global Financial Stability report report found that after adjusting for currency rates, the Chinese economy is now $17.6 trillion, larger than the United States’s $17.4-trillion economy.

But some economists say more traditional GDP standards still puts the U.S. on top.

CCTV America’s Zou Yun spoke to Zhu Min, deputy director of the IMF. She asked him what this new economic growth means for China.
