Exclusive interview with Larry Summers

Global Business

As the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group takes place in Washington, D.C., top ministers, government officials and business leaders discus global issues such as Ebola, poverty, and challenges to economic growth. At the meeting, CCTV America’s Shraysi Tandon interviewed former U.S. treasury secretary Larry Summers about China’s rapid growth and what it means to United States.

“A more prosperous China is a better market for our products. A more prosperous China is a China that has a greater stake in an integrated global economic system. A more prosperous China is a China that has more resources to combat global problems whether it be terrorism or issues in the environment. The United States has a lot to do to define its relationship with China as China has a lot to do to define its relationship with U.S. But we do not have anything to fear from China’s growth.” — Larry Summers
