The Heat discusses rebuilding in Gaza

The Heat

It’s been more than six weeks since a cease-fire was declared between Israel and Hamas but the suffering continues for Palestinians living in Gaza. More than 100,000 people are still living in crowded shelters, classrooms, and tents.

This weekend, delegates from 50 countries gathered at a conference in Cairo and pledged more than five billion in aid, and renewed calls for Israel to lift its blockade to allow building materials in. CCTV America’s Noor Harazeen reports from Gaza.

The United Nations reports more than 2,000 Palestinians were killed during the most recent conflict between Israel and Hamas. Thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed and some estimates say that with current restrictions in place, full reconstruction could take as long as 20 years.
