Documents reveal full range of crimes against Kurdish people

The search is on for evidence to help prove war crimes were committed in Syria. The same type of paper trail detailed the persecution of Kurds in Iraq in the 1980’s, and those documents were recently handed back to Kurdistan.

When Kurds seized these Iraqi secret police files during their revolt against Saddam in the early 1990’s, the documents were flown to the U.S. for safekeeping. They document the full range of crimes that Saddam committed against the Kurds.

Several weeks ago, a delegation from Kurdistan was given a digital copy. The Kurds now have a record of past crimes committed against their people.
