Expats still moving to Hong Kong

Expats who have just moved into Hong Kong believe the city is still a good place to do business. Relocation companies based in Hong Kong have seen a continued influx of expats into the city amid the largely peaceful protest rallies. CCTV America’s Cathy Yang reports.

Cedric Thiry and his wife Magali have just moved to Hong Kong on October 25. They had been monitoring the protest from their home city of Brussels, Belgium for a month, but still decided to continue with their relocation plans.

“We took a decision to be in Hong Kong a long time ago. I founded my company SEED Advisory for two years now here in Hong Kong. I registered here so the advantage of being in Hong Kong as a business maker for more was largely positive, compared to what’s happening in Occupy Central. Our decision was straight through and we didn’t even question our decision,” Cedric said.

Relocation agents said many newcomers are still convinced Hong Kong is a good place to do business.
