For pilots, the future may bring a workspace without buttons

Global Business

The 2014 National Aviation Business Convention was full of new innovations and toys for those fanatics of aircraft and all its components. But one company promises to reinvent how pilots interact with their aircrafts. CCTV’s Nitza Soledad Perez reports.

Some of those new functions are the ability to quickly re-direct flight paths and show what-if scenarios about flying to alternate destinations.

It also has a feature that allows pilots to adjust their takeoff and climb profiles for optimal CO2 emissions and fuel burn.

After a five year absence, Thales Avionics made a comeback to this conference and it is betting on their innovative design to revolutionize a pilot’s work space.
