Boston buys $567M in subway trains from Chinese company

The U.S. State of Massachusetts, home of the oldest subway in North America, is also investing in rail improvements. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation approved (link is pdf) a $567 million contract to purchase 284 metro trains from the Chinese company, CNR MA Corporation, a joint venture between China CNR Corporation Limited and the CNR Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd.
