One of the top leaders in the United States, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, has stepped down. What does this mean for U.S. foreign policy? Did Hagel go willingly, or was he pushed?

As the U.S. armed forces engages in several fronts of combat, from the fight against ISIL in Iraq and Syria, to the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan, it’s unclear whether a change in leadership will affect U.S. policy on the ground. CCTV America’s Nathan King reported the story from Washington, D.C.

CCTV America interviewed Michael O’Hanlon, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution who specializes in U.S. defense strategy and American foreign policy about what Hagel’s resignation means.
