Egyptians protest after court decision absolves former President Mubarak

World Today

Protests erupted at universities across Egypt on Sunday, condemning a court decision to drop criminal charges against former president Hosni Mubarak.

The prosecution failed to include Mubarak as a prime suspect while filing the case, allowing the judge to absolve Mubarak from charges related to the killing of protesters.

The prosecution has 60 days to appeal on the case of the protesters who were killed. If the court accepts, a one session trial will be held and the verdict will be final.

CCTV’s Adel El-Mahrouky reported this story from Cairo.
