Two months since the protests began, several confrontations erupted between police and protesters outside the Hong Kong government headquarters on Sunday night and Monday morning.

The High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region called on the protesters to leave occupation sites, and authorized the police to clear them out. So far 58 people, including 11 police officers have been sent to accident and emergency wards in Hong Kong, according to a South China Morning Post article.

About 40 protesters were also arrested. Meanwhile, Hong Kong’s finance chief warned that protesters risked harming the city’s image as an international financial center. CCTV’s Xu Geng reported this story from Hong Kong.
