Fascinating icicles delight visitors at Yellow River waterfall

Plunging temperatures have turned the Hukou Waterfall on China's Yellow River into a winter wonderland, to the delight of tourists.

Cold weather has caused icicles to form on cliffs and railings around the site, reflecting a dazzling array of colors in the winter sunshine.

More ice is expected in the coming days. To take advantage of the low temperatures, workers at the waterfall have set up a model of a dragon that they hope will turn into a giant ice dragon once the water freezes further.

Located at the intersection of Shanxi Province and Shaanxi Province, the Hukou Waterfall is the largest waterfall on the Yellow River and the second largest waterfall in China after the Huangguoshu Waterfall in Guzhou Province. Every year, tens of thousands of visitors come to see the breath-taking scenery.
