The European air control agency Eurocontrol said London airspace was closed for a few hours due to a computer failure.

Officials at London Heathrow Airport said Friday there was a power outage at the NATS control center in Swanwick, England. The statement said “flights are currently experiencing delays and we will update passengers as soon as we have more information.”

NATS, the main air navigation service provider in the U.K, confirmed that a technical problem had been reported at Swanwick Air Traffic Control center. A statement on NATS’ website said: “NATS can confirm that a technical problem has been reported at Swanwick air traffic control center.

“We apologise for any delays and our incident response team has been mobilized. In a latest development, British air traffic control has informed that the computer glitch causing air delays has been resolved.
