Twitter was abuzz Wednesday with hashtags over the news that the U.S. and Cuba announced they would re-establish diplomatic and economic ties — including a prisoner swap and the release of Alan Gross on humanitarian grounds — as part of the “most important changes to Cuba policy in more than 50 years,” including #Cuba, #Havana, and #AlanGross. But what were Cubans saying?

We pulled tweets from some official Cuba accounts and prominent people, and translated when necessary, to give you a curated (and very general) roundup of what Cubans were tweeting about the day’s events.
