U.S. President Barack Obama and his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro made historic announcements this week to normalize diplomatic relations between the two countries. After 50 years of hostility, the United States aims to reopen a US embassy in Havana as and ease travel restrictions for Americans visiting Cuba.

CCTV America’s Nathan King reported on the latest diplomatic events from Washington, D.C.

The Heat interviewed Carlos Gutierrez, the former U.S. Secretary of Commerce in the George W. Bush administration to discuss current relations between Cuba and the United States.
