Every holiday shopping season there is the “must have’ toy that flies off the shelves. Which is your favorite and did you get or buy one? Vote here on our poll.

The National Retail Federation (NRF) of the United States is expecting a 4.1 percent growth on the retail store sales in the last two months of 2014 from a year earlier, which might surpass 617 billion U.S. dollars.

In the past several years, sales figures taken from the shopping season — a period that usually starts from Halloween in November — accounted for about 40 percent of the whole-year retails sales.

Ninety-four percent of the customers surveyed said key for them spending was to see if the products they wanted were on sale.

According to a survey conducted by the NRF, over half of the customers around the country would do their holiday shopping on the Internet this year, while 30 percent would choose to go to outlets.

And at least one in four male customers would shop online as their first choice, while only one in eight women would.

The survey also shows that each person in the United States, purchases an average of four gift cards for 173 U.S. dollars, and 54 percent of the cards are from restaurants and cafes.

Number one choice for girls’ gifts are merchandise products from Disney’s computer-animation film Frozen, while most boys prefer Lego as always, said the survey.
