A Hello Kitty theme park in Anji County, east China’s Zhejiang Province, opened on New Year’s Day to celebrate the cartoon character that was created 40 years ago.

The theme park, which covers an area of 150 acres, is expected to attract a million visitors annually.

The park is divided into six zones that feature Hello Kitty and other characters by the same creator.
