Drama played out live on screens across the world as people watched French police end two hostage situations initiated by the Charlie Hebdo shooting suspects.

Just before 5 p.m. Paris time, the Kouachi brothers, Cherif and Said, came out from the printing plant with guns blazing, a French police official said. They were killed and their hostage was freed.

Minutes later, police storm the Paris kosher grocery in another eruption of gunshots and explosions. Amedy Coulibaly and at least four hostages are killed. Fifteen hostages are freed.

Amateur video filmed on Wednesday (January 7) shows two gunmen shooting a wounded Paris policeman in the head.

The video which is shot from a balcony above, shows the gunmen, both dressed in black, walking forward from their vehicle down a Paris street while firing rounds, before the camera is turned to show a police officer lying on the footpath.

The gunmen then run towards the police officer who raises his hands, before one of the gunmen shoots him in the head.

The men then continue running down the road a short distance before turning and running back towards a black vehicle where they get inside and carefully drive off.

It’s believed the gunmen are two of three who stormed the Paris offices of the weekly satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, renowned for lampooning radical Islam, killing at least 12 people, including two police officers in the worst militant attack on French soil in recent decades.
