Boko Haram launched attacks on northern Nigerian villages this week. Almost 2,00 people are feared to have been massacred in those attacks. Many of the residents from the town of Baga fled as a nearby army base was overrun.

Nigeria will hold elections next month and incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan has been criticized by opponents for failing to provide security.

CCTV America interviewed expert Adotei Akwei for more insight on Boko Haram’s terror attacks in Nigeria. Akwei is the Managing Director for Government Relations at Amnesty International.
