South Africans condemn Paris extremist attacks

South Africans from both the political and religious spectrum have added their voices to condemn the terror attacks in Paris. CCTV’s Rene Del Carm reported the story from Cape Town.

During Friday prayers at the Claremont Mosque, prominent Cape Town Imam Rashied Omar described the Charlie Hebdo Magazine Massacre as an abomination that should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

“Regardless of the provocation of this magazine, in insulting marginal population groups, including Africans and Muslims, this act of violence must be unequivocably condemned,” Imam Rashied said.

The Imam said whoever the attackers may be and whatever their cause. the killings could never be justified. In the name of Islam or any other religion.
