World Snow Day is an annual snow festival for children and families to enjoy and explore winter sports. The festival includes 645 events in 45 countries and many resorts are offering free or discounted mountain passes, tuition and fun activities in the snow.
CCTV’s Wang Tongshen reported this story from China.

Everything you may have experienced in your childhood including: riding in bumper cars, snow trains and snow sleds, or joining in a snowball fight.

Four large ski resorts are open in Zhangjiakou City, only about 124 miles northwest of Beijing.

One of them in Kangbao County has attracted hundreds of visitors and dozens took part in a tug-of-war on ice.

33 ice sculptures, enchant visitors to Kangbao county’s resort.

The resort features sculptures, towers and entire buildings made from blocks of ice. They’re lit from the inside with colored lights.

The head of the county said snow levels in the mountains of Zhangjiakou will be sufficient for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games if China wins the right to host the event.

“We have rich ice and snow resources here, and it would be great to host the winter games,” Wei Hongxia, head of Kangboa county said. “Even though, Kangbao county is a little bit far from Beijing, people in the county are as enthusiastic as those in Beijing in supporting the successful bid.”

Two local students who did not provide their names said, they would be proud of the country and look forward to the experiences they could have.

The county head said more than ninety percent of the locals support Beijing’s bid.

If Beijing succeeds, it will become the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics within 14 years.
