People across China celebrated the 1,500 year-old Laba Festival on Tuesday.

According to traditional belief, people who eat Laba congee on the Laba Festival will enjoy good fortune in the coming year.

Many volunteers and non-governmental organizations around the country took the time to feed nursing home and cook large pots of congee for the elderly people and distribute free Laba congee to passersby.
