Thai performers respond to Paris attacks on the stage

The response to the Charlie Hebdo attacks that shook France earlier this month has been relatively muted in Thailand. Many people have expressed their shock at the violence, as well their distaste at the offensive images in the satirical magazine. However, it has struck a chord with those who feel the notion of freedom of speech has been undermined since the military coup last year. CCTV’s Tony Cheng reported the story from Bangkok.

Protests against Charlie Hebdo staged across Turkey

Several websites have been blocked in Turkey, following court orders against sites that are considered insulting to Islam. This follows protests across Turkey against the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo, for printing a caricature of the Prophet Muhammad. CCTV’s Natalie Carey reported the story from Diyarbakir, Turkey.
