Thousands of the young and tech savvys people are in Sao Paulo this week for the “Campus Party” — a massive annual Internet and technology event focusing this year on entrepreneurship. CCTV America’s Paulo Cabral reported this story from Sao Paulo.

According to event organizers, 160,000 people are expected to visit the country’s biggest Internet fair.

“People who come here to learn are never disappointed. There are lectures and workshops on many subjects with very good lecturers. When we come here we already know it’s going to be one week of very little sleep,” Paulo Rogerio, a young computer programmer said.

While it may be a party, it’s also an opportunity to learn new ways to transform their ideas into good businesses.

The event often invites speakers, including 13-year-old CEO Shubham Banerjee, who invented a cheaper version of a Braille printer and received support from tech giant, Intel.

“I think that it will inspire kids my age to do something that will benefit the society in a impactful way, not something like a million dollar app, which, you know, doesn’t have an impact in the society,” Banerjee, the CEO of Braigo, said.

Consultants are also on hand to help social entrepreneurs to get their projects up, running, and sustainable.

“Everything can be profitable, and it’s really important that the profit exists, because if there’s no profit you’ll aways depend on someone to invest in you,” entrepreneurship coordinator Eduardo Gusmao said.
