German and French leaders push Ukraine peace plan in Moscow

A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin says talks with Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande on a peace proposal for Ukraine have ended.

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, said early Saturday local time that the next step in the process would be a telephone call between Putin, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the German and French leaders on Sunday.

No details of what was discussed in the Kremlin talks were given however the European leaders were hoping to work towards an end to the fighting in eastern Ukraine.
