The Heat

This weekend, millions of people around the world will watch the Oscars.
Winning the coveted gold statuette can make an actor’s career and bring even more success to the films at the box office. Over the years 23 films about war have won an Academy Award for Best Picture and the film American Sniper is among this year’s nominees. CCTV America’s May Lee reported from Los Angeles.

The Heat discussed the U.S. military’s influence on Hollywood with David Robb. Robb is a veteran Hollywood reporter and the author of Operation Hollywood: How the Pentagon Shapes and Censors the Movies.

The Heat continued the discussion with experts Matt Zoller Seitz of RogerEbert.com and Sergeant Major James Denver of the U.S. Marine Corps. Denver has consulted on numerous films as a military technical adviser.
