Feb. 19 marks the first day of the Chinese New Year, but for Tibet it marks their most important celebration of the year. The Losar Festival. CCTV’s Li Nan filed this report.

Paloh Lhasa and her neighbors mark the occasion with new year greetings.

“Losar is the most important festival for us Tibetans. I hope my friends and families can enjoy a great new year,” Lhasa said.

When Losar coincides with Chinese New Year, the mood is extra festive.

“We are celebrating the two festivals together. This is so joyful,” Lhasa said.

As every year, Tibetans celebrate Losar by traditional singing and dancing as well as exquisite costumes, graceful movements, crispy white hata and the warm company of friends and family.
