U.S. drivers are ditching their vehicles for other transportation options. CCTV America's Hendrik Sybrandy reported this story from Denver.

For years drivers have searched for ways to lessen their dependence on cars. Mass transit like light rail, is widely used in some cities in the U.S.
Bicycles are popular but aren’t always the best option.

A new study by non-profits groups, Colorado Public Interest Research Foundation and Frontier Group shows a number of U.S. cities now offer innovative transportation services that you can access and compare using a smartphone.

“We’ve seen an incredible change in transportation over the last decade made possible because of technology,” Danny Katz, COPIRG Foundation Director and leader of the study said.

Services like bike-sharing, cab-hailing apps and Zipcars, make sure the windshield has been wiped clean first.

“Sometimes I use it for work and so I’ll go through periods where I use it a lot. Sometimes I don’t need it for weeks on end because I’m happy to walk to the grocery store myself,” CarShare customer, Emily Fischer said.
