50 year anniversary of famous U.S. civil rights march

Fifty years ago, what started as a peaceful march from Selma to Montgomery, in the U.S. state of Alabama, became known as ‘bloody Sunday’. It marked a turning point in the U.S. Civil Rights movement. CCTV’s Jay Gray filed this report.

Today in Selma, Alabama unemployment is nearly double the national average.

President Obama and former President George Bush will be a part of the jubilee celebration in Selma.

Also in Selma for the 50 year anniversary will be 85 members of the U.S. Congress.
