The past two years have brought record investment by Chinese corporations into the United States most of it through merging or acquiring American companies. In 2014, that investment totaled $12 billion dollars. Among the benefits of such deals, these companies can now sell products stamped with “Made in the USA” back to Chinese consumers. CCTV’s Jessica Stone reports.

The past two years have brought record investment by Chinese corporations into the United States most of it through merging or acquiring American companies. In 2014, that investment totaled $12 billion dollars. Highlights:

  • According to a Boston Consulting Group study released in 2012, nearly 50 percent of Chinese buyers preferred to buy ‘Made in the USA’ products.
  • According to the same study, almost two-thirds were willing to pay more for products with the ‘Made in the USA’ label.
  • As manufacturing costs have risen in China, the US has also become a more competitive production location.
