Mexicans have been given a tool designed to help fight official corruption. It’s a web page called MexicoLeaks and it’s designed to help anonymous whistle blowers publish documents that might shed light on government corruption. CCTV’s Franc Contreras filed this report from Mexico City.

Highlights:

  • Many in Mexico are calling for a more robust system that will investigate and punish officials and business leaders involved in acts of corruption.
  • A corruption scandal made public in November has tainted the image of Mexican President Enrique Pe Nieto and his wife, Angelica Rivera. They’re accused of allegedly accepting a mansion from a government contractor.
  • The Mexicoleaks website is designed to help whistle blowers remain anonymous as they upload documents that may eventually reveal acts of government corruption.
