The seven-day period of mourning for Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew moved into a more formal phase on Wednesday, when his body was transferred from SriTemasek – the Prime Minister’s official residence on the Istana grounds – to the Parliament House where it will lie in state until Saturday. CCTV’s Miro Lu filed this report from Singapore.

Highlights:

  • Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s body will lie in state for visitors at the Parliament House in the next four days.
  • Many organisations and businesses are giving employees time off to pay their respects.
  • In response to overwhelming turnover, the lying in state at the Parliament House will be open 24 hours daily from Wednesday till Saturday.
