The seven-day period of mourning for Singapore’s founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew moved into a more formal phase on Wednesday, when his body was transferred from SriTemasek – the Prime Minister’s official residence on the Istana grounds – to the Parliament House where it will lie in state until Saturday. CCTV’s Miro Lu filed this report from Singapore.
Highlights:
Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew’s body will lie in state for visitors at the Parliament House in the next four days.
Many organisations and businesses are giving employees time off to pay their respects.
In response to overwhelming turnover, the lying in state at the Parliament House will be open 24 hours daily from Wednesday till Saturday.
