Chinese telecom giant Huawei is no threat to UK national security, according to a key new report. A cyber security oversight board looking into the company’s site in Banbury, Oxfordshire has released its first full findings. Some British MPs have raised concerns about Huawei networking equipment being used in the UK’s telecommunications infrastructure, but in the oversight board’s report to UK security chiefs, it reports that the Huawei Cyber Security Evaluation Centre in Banbury is independent enough, and that equipment there could not be accessed by foreign agencies.
