Air crash kills Sao Paulo state Gov. son, 4 others

The death of Thomaz Rodrigues Alckmin was confirmed in a statement posted Friday on the website of the Sao Paulo state government. He’s the 31-year-old son of Governor Geraldo Alckmin.

Police say the governor’s son was a professional pilot who was making a post-maintenance test flight at the time of the crash.

Brazilian officials say the son of the governor Sao Paulo state was among the five people killed when their helicopter crashed into a house on the outskirts of Sao Paulo.

The accident occurred Thursday afternoon in a residential neighborhood in the town of Carapicuiba.

No one on the ground was hurt.

Police said they are still investigating what caused the accident.
