The Heat discusses the Iran nuclear deal

The nuclear deal framework between Iran and six world powers announced in Switzerland last week is being hailed as historic. The parties involved hope to have a final agreement worked out by the end of June.

The deal, aimed at limiting Iran’s nuclear program, would also allow Iran to keep its nuclear facilities open, although there would be strict limits on production and international monitoring would be in place. In return, economic sanctions on Iran would be eased.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is attacking the agreement and warns it could threaten Israel’s existence.

The Heat discussed the deal with Hillary Mann Leverett in Washington. She is a visiting scholar at Georgetown University. And she is the author of, ‘Going to Tehran, Why America must accept the Islamic Republic of Iran’.

CCTV’s Marcus Sheff in Tel Aviv provided an update on the deal.

The Heat continued the discussion in Tehran with Seyed Mohammad Marandi. He is dean of the Faculty of World Studies at the University of Tehran.
