Famous Chinese composer creates music about natural disasters

One of China’s best known contemporary classical composers, Tan Dan, was in Shanghai over the weekend for a performance of his latest composition The Tears of Nature. Tan Dun is best known for composing the scores to some of China’s biggest movies, including Hero and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It was performed by the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. The concerto also featured Austrian percussionist Martin Grubinger. CCTV’s Song Wenjing filed this report.
