  • Airline Alitalia announced this week it would end flights to the South American nation beginning in April.
  • Carriers like Delta and American Airlines are cutting back flights or closing shop due to unpaid debts with the Venezuelan government. The airlines say Caracas owes them nearly four billion dollars.
  • President Nicolas Maduro decreed that US citizens must now obtain a visa before entering the country. A move analysts fear could hurt an industry already struggling to get visitors.
